Sr. Database Administrator is needed for a High Point Manufacturing Company.
This individual will be responsible for organizing and leading activities for large to complex projects within the enterprise systems environment. The enterprise systems include various hardware platforms, operating systems, layered products, and database management systems. Candidate is responsible for managing and maintaining Database Management Systems spanning multiple technical platforms. Will also be responsible for the standards and design of physical data storage, maintenance, access and security administration. Individual will also perform backup and recovery on Database, configure parameters, prototype designs against logical data models, and define data repository requirements, data dictionaries and warehousing requirements. Candidate is also responsible for optimizing database access and allocates/re-allocate database resources for optimum configuration, database performance and cost.
Candidate must have mature technical and analytical skills. Individual will lead various engineering, delivery, and support activities for such areas as unplanned maintenance business, planned maintenance of business, and project related work. These activities routinely cross over diverse competencies such as but not limited to backup & recovery, capacity performance, systems management/administration, configuration management**s, software patch management, hardware management, security, problem management, user training, Standard Operating Procedure development.
Requirements:
1. 8 years of experience
2. Experience in the administration of database management platforms (e.g. Informix, Oracle, SQL)
3. Two or more of the following Systems Infrastructure: system hardware and operating system platforms(e.g. HP/UX, Sun Solaris, Linux, Windows, Novell or OS400)
4. Middleware supporting software and services(e.g. Lotus Domino, Iron Mail, Active Directory, SMS, SUS, iPass, Anti-Virus or other tools)
5. Familiar and experienced with system management, monitoring, and capacity planning tools, (e.g. Native scripting languages, BMC Patrol, HP Openview, or Tivoli) and Project Management by organizing and leading one or more concurrent large to complex projects.
6. BS degree in Computer Science or relevant Engineering disciple. 10+ years of Industry related experience may substitute for college degree
