Newspaper Writer/Reporter

Community newspaper writer/reporter for the Northwest Observer, an independently owned weekly newspaper with goals of expanding and enhancing our print and online coverage in northwest Guilford County. Professional and versatile writer must possess enthusiasm and appreciation for community news. Writing topics will range from human interest to local government. Writer will work independently as well as closely with the editorial team to consistently provide innovative feature stories and professionally-written news articles. Must also be interested in taking our Web site content to a new level and incorporating audio and video into news and story coverage. Photography skills essential. Journalism degree a plus, proven newspaper writing and reporting experience a must. Send resume and three writing samples.
