The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a Producer/Editor for our Media Sales Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.





Meet with clients to sell production services. Produce video productions from initial client contact to finished video tape. Edit with non-linear editing system.





Essential Functions/Duties:


•Produce, direct, and edit commercial spots and projects for internal & external clients.


•Meet with potential clients to learn their advertising goals and objectives and sell Production services.


•Formulate creative ideas to meet clients’ advertising needs and desires.


•Write complete video and audio scripts for clients’ video projects.


•Schedule shoots.


•Arrange for voiceover talent to record voice tracks.


•Edit all assigned materials unsupervised in a timely fashion, using non-linear editing suite.


•Generate all graphics and animation as required for projects.


•Responsible for quality control on finished projects.


•Secure clients signed and dated approval of script and charges.


•Maintain a file for each client currently involved with production.


•Update Account Executives on their clients’ status.


•Coordinate all elements of clients’ production.


•Complete all paperwork for independent contractors used to crew productions, including forwarding approved invoices to Production Manager.


•Maintain accurate and complete paperwork in a timely fashion.


•Track performance of editing suite, make service calls when needed, and keep Production Manager informed of suite’s performance.


•Audition talent, as necessary.


•Assist Sales Managers.


•Attend Production Meetings.


•Attend Sales Meetings.


•Assist with dubbing, striping, and shipping tapes.


•Assist in maintaining a reasonable production supply inventory (e.g., tapes, labels, etc.).


•Assist Production Department and Sales Department in achieving revenue goals.


•Know, understand and adhere to all TWC Media Sales policies and procedures.


•Any other duties assigned by management.

•Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.

•Must have ability to write creative, attention-getting commercial scripts that can be easily and cost-effectively produced in a timely manner.

•Ability to oversee production crew.


•Ability to visualize and direct pre-production, production, and post-production of video projects in a timely manner.


•Demonstrate creative talent in video production, including script-writing, directing shoots, editing, and graphics/animation.


•Ability to visualize effective visual and aural sequences, and provide continuity for the video editing process in a timely manner.


•Ability to operate various video and audio production equipment, including—but not limited to—video tape recorders (VTRs) for Beta SP, DVCPro, DVCam, MiniDV, HD, ¾-inch, and VHS; multi-channel audio mixers; and video waveform monitors and vector scopes.


•Editing & graphics experience on computer-based non-linear editing system, such as Apple Final Cut Pro or Avid Media Composer.


•Experience in using Adobe Photoshop and After Effects to create video production for clients.


•Familiarity with the Time Warner Cable Media Sales sales philosophy and sales process.


•Valid NC drivers’ license and auto insurance and ability to drive a standard vehicle.





Education/Experience Requirements:


•The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 6 months experience in video producing and editing.





Human Relations:


•This position includes interfacing with co-workers and clients on a daily basis. Internally, this person interfaces with other departments. Externally, this person interfaces with outside clients.


•Personable and have good interpersonal skills.





Physical Requirements:


•Routinely lifting/carrying equipment (up to 35 pounds).


•Lifting up to 45 pounds occasionally.


•Setting and adjusting video lights unassisted from floor level to 10 feet high (including climbing a ladder).


•Ability to discern different colors of the spectrum in order to adjust a video monitor color.


•Ability to discern different sound frequencies in order to sound recordings for optimum quality.


•Frequent and prolonged use of computer keyboard and mouse.


•Frequent viewing and reading of TV monitors and computer screens.


•Sitting, walking & standing for extended periods.
